Fallas

FALLAS

We are just arriving into a big festivity that take place every march in Valencia, Spain, which is called "Las Fallas".

In this festivity Valencians burn the old and get the new for their lifes.

A falla is a monument made of wood and carboard that is set up in the street. Although they are virtual works of art, they will perish on the 19th of March.

The use of the fallas is satirical, and it has its origin in the bonfire made by the carpenters to burn their useless things.

The fallas festivity includes a flower offering, daily pyrotechnic showcases in the centre of town and fireworks displays by the river at night.

In addition, they made different parades with traditional music in their traditional Valencian outfit, walk arround town towards the cathedral to offer flowers to the Virgin of the city.
